Day 5-6 Finally the pickup of the bike

After a day just relaxing at the pool, reading e-books and planning the first couple of travel days, Friday came and it was time to FINALLY get the bike.

The bus was booked from Valparaiso (Pullman busses) to San Antonio – a two hour busride with a lot of local stops along the coastline. San Antonio is south of Valparaiso and due west of Santiago.

I arrived a little late I thought – but the Fixer came an hour later than we had agreed. So me and 10 other drivers (from UK, Czech Repl., Italy and Poland) was eagerly waiting for the paperwork at the notaria, and then the short journey to the warehouse. Another set of paperwork and signing, and finally we all were allowed to go to our bikes. A sigh of releaf from all seeing our “love” again 😂

Bikes got inspected and packed with all the luggage – then out for customs and the most important piece of paper – the TIP, temporary import permit that need protection as your passport, so more digital copies was secured.

Time to leave the warehouse and look for fuel – I rode to Cartagena and had only one issue. The lid to the tank would not open. Some swearing and mand-handling fixed the issue and 34 litres was distributed between main tank, spare cannister and fuel for cooking.

Nice waves of Cartagena

Back at the B&B re-packing the stuff I brought from DK, and now I and the bike is ready.

Adventure begins heading north …
