December 3rd I left Copenhagen, via Helsinki and Miami to touch down 24 hours later in Santiago, Chile.
Two short stop-overs so just a lot of sitting close – but actually got good control of the sleep/eat principles so somewhat rested arriving into 25 degrees and sunny Santiago.
I had booked on recommendation a small hostel called Casa Matte – Christian was the owner and welcomed me with a tour of the almost 100 year old house. The hostel is for bikers and old motorcycles are everywhere, stickers from other travellers on the fridge and very rustic decorations.
Three other bikers were already in the hostel – two of them arrived a week ago and are purchasing a local bike before their adventures, and then a German guy my age, that was stopped in 2020 due to Covid and now over the last 3 months had continued his journeys – just resting here for some days.
This first day is resting day – getting up to speed on the Spanish (tough) and planning for a tourist day tomorrow – getting Uber and Metro apps working and checking what I would like to see.
Tuesday was to be the day of re-union with my bike – the bike is here in San Antonio – but a strike last week postponed the transport of the container to the warehouse – so right now looking into pick-up time either Wednesday or Friday … another public holiday is stalling everything Thursday.
Det ser sgu godt ud – nyd din ferie 🙂
Nyd turen min ven 😎
