During the last 15+ years I’ve been travelling around the world – mostly on my motorcycle and mostly alone on the long travels. On shorter travels (less than 3 weeks) I’ve travelled with good friends mostly in Europe.
The background for the ALWFH site and blog is the need to continue my travels, and the next big one (after the Corona-virus) is South America in 2022 & 2023.
I will though also be posting from other shorter travels (yet to come on-line) – planned so far is France (2020), Sweden (2020), Austria (2021), northwest Italy and Switzerland (2021), France/Italy/Switzerland in summer of 2022 – and the crown, 3 months in South America from Dec 2022 to Feb 2023.
Most of the planned travels were definitely challenged by the Corona-pandemic – but a lot of travels did happen.
My name is Michael, born in 1965, a danish based motorcycle enthusiast and traveller. I have had motorcycles since my mid thirties, started on a Suzuki DL650 Vstrom and passing through a 2009 BMW R1200RT, a 2014 BMW R1200RT (water-cooled) and now own the BMW R1250GS Adventure. I loved the RT’s but have found my new love and almost unlimited opportunities in the GSA – its almost like a Swiss Army knife …
