Arriving very early in the morning before even the Sun had eyes in the sky, New Delhi welcomed us with 27degr and a fairly high humidity.
Everyone had arrived and all luggage too – so through customs to be greeted by Lasse, our guide from MC Asien.
Waiting another 15-20 minutes for the bus was used to exchange to some local currency – mostly to be used for tips and beverages.
We had a three hour stay at a local hotel for refreshing and breakfast before we again experienced the local traffic with tuctuc’s, motorcycles and white cars honning their horns to get passage. This time the goal was a regional train station from where we would embark the Express Train to Chandighar some 300km north of New Delhi.
As you proberly have seen, then rail tracks are widely used as transport and picknic areas for anything but trains, so while cruising at 130kph the driver almost constantly used his airhorn to warn of our approach.
MC Asien have so far really impressed me and the fellow travelers with the service level – drinks, lunch, local knowledge was just shared before anyone even asked.
Not having slept alot in the planes the refresh-hotel and the train was used to catch up on a few hours sleep – not being the only one in need.
Getting to the hotel we took a tour to a local Mall having a cold beer or two before getting ready for dinner.
