Day 70-74 Final days and shipping bike

The last 500km – and with a slow route towards Valparaiso and Pontoval B&B where I had the first days waiting for the motorcycle – and now will spent the last 4 nights relaxing, reading and preparing the bike and luggage for the long transport home in a container.

And OMG the first stop was in another coastal town that even more than Pelluhue invited the locals to the ocean and selling everything they don’t need to suit they leisure time at the beach. This is worse than an italian tourist trap …

I booked a nice hotel in the city center with “private parking” – that was a reserved field by yellow markings on the main road to the beach, so I needed to hvide the bike again with the “Harry Potter” trick and some extra locks and then try to relax letting it stay just in front of the reception area.

On the way north a few highligts was so many large rivers going towards the Ocean and apparently they were able to extract salt when close to the coast.

The inland areas are flats – closer to Santa Cruz it becomes wine and olives

Local salt production – and many selling points for the tourists
Another Plaza de Armas – this one from Santa Cruz
Still some smoke visible from the forest fires

After Santa Cruz a short 240km drive through curved roads towards the coast again and a warm welcome from the host Ernesto at Pontoval B&B. Got the bike parked in his garage, it got a good wash to get rid of most of the mud and dust, and was repacked ready for 6 weeks at sea.

Clean bike ready for delivery in San Antonio
It will not travel alone …

I on the other hand enjoyed the warm and sunny weather from the pool and terrasses – taking short walks, reading, listening to music and trying to finalize a Star Wars marathon – all the 9 movies.

And then some final statistics: 16.509km in 75 days, drivetime 250 hours (66 km/h in average or 220km per day). Average 21.7 km per litre fuel, which is quality to 759 litre or appr 25 full tanks.
